Let’s get to know him better!

Tell the story about your career path

Fifteen years ago, I decided to take the plunge and move from marketing to executive – level management within the Tech industry and Innovation sector. What drew me in was the opportunity to work on a global scale.

Also, if we’re talking about the career path, before I transitioned to Wargaming, I had six years of experience working in Lithuania’s Investment Promotion Agency, “Invest in Lithuania”. I’m proud of the changes we’ve made there as a team.

However, my role has given me the opportunity to work with different global industries, which has been nothing short of exhilarating. My most significant interest when it comes to my job is creating value and building organisations and teams that can drive business to greater heights.

Name several reasons why you chose to join the gaming industry. What is so attractive in the game industry?

Gaming will be one of the top 5 megatrends in the following decades globally. I say “megatrend” because it affects all other branches. Game engines are used in production processes, in education, or even innovations in health sciences take place in virtual reality. The game industry created those technologies. It is an incredibly huge opportunity to participate in this journey!

Could you share your perspective on what is so unique about Wargaming?

My perspective on what makes Wargaming so unique is that the company has incredible wealth in the realm of global gaming knowledge. It’s truly a unique environment where everyone can become an expert.

Also, we have two unique games being developed in Vilnius, World of Tanks and World of Tanks Blitz, which are well-known names worldwide that occupy a significant niche in their segment. From core game development, game community management or global publishing – all main business development fields present in Vilnius, so it is really unique chance to learn create digital products and sell them worldwide. We have innovative development teams worldwide and cutting – edge technology that helps bring our games to life. Our games are designed with detail and depth, offering players various options for strategic play.

What is so special about your area of responsibility?

My area of responsibility is a complex and ever-changing one. It requires close collaboration with many colleagues and partners to ensure we are able to develop an attractive and competitive environment for gaming enthusiasts. In the age of tech disruption, the importance of an attractive and competitive environment is huge because talents have many opportunities to choose from.

Could you share your thoughts about the privileges of being in Lithuania? What do you like the most about this country?

Lithuania has a passion for innovating, growing and competing. Tech community and government created a very vibrant Tech community with global players from around the globe. I believe that the gaming industry in Lithuania will develop very rapidly and has the potential to expand tenfold.

As a bonus – life quality and culture in Vilnius are similar to the Nordic countries: excellent air and water quality, low crime rate, affordable living and a walkable city.

What are your hobbies?

I have too many hobbies, but I always love trying new activities, and sailing is one that I have recently taken a liking to. It requires quick thinking and an understanding of how to work together as a team since you’re all trying to reach the same goals in an unpredictable environment.

What are the similarities between sailing and business?

When it comes to sailing and doing business, I think there are quite a few similarities. First of all, just like in any successful and well-run business, teamwork is essential in sailing – you can’t do anything without the help and support of your teammates. Every individual needs to have their own role and contribute to the team’s success. Leadership is also very important in both sailing and business – you need someone at the helm who will make sure everything runs smoothly and that everyone knows what they need to do. Finally, I believe that having a passion for what you do, whether it’s sailing or business, is key if you want to win the competition, as it gives you an extra drive to keep pushing forward.
