General information

Wargaming is looking to hire and provide relocation support to very talented and skilled professionals who want to join our international team. In the later sections, we try to answer some of the questions you might have. We know we can’t answer all your questions, so, if you have any more, just ask us in the interview.

What is the relocation process?

During the latest stages of an interview, our HR department and hospitality teams will partner with you to understand your specific needs in regard to relocation and answer any questions you might have regarding the move, what documents you may need to prepare, and all necessary information about life in Vilnius, as well as work in Wargaming.

Am I authorized to live and work in the Vilnius?

If you are citizen of an EU country, Island, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland, you have a similar legal status of Lithuania you don’t need a residence permit to live in Lithuania and you also have free entry into Lithuania labour market.

Otherwise, you will need the relevant work and residence permit ( Blue Card for employees and family reunification permit for family members) to work in Lithuania. During the interview process, we will be able to confirm your status. If you accept our job offer, our HR department will assist you with the immigration process to get the necessary permits.

Does the company offer temporary accommodation?

Wargaming offers temporary accommodation for a limited period, during which you will need to find your own accommodation.

How does the company help with finding accommodation?

Our Hospitality team will provide you with support in finding a new home in Vilnius, such as the that the Hospitality team will coordinate property viewings, dealing with real estate agents and agencies, provide support in checking the lease agreement, coordinating the handover process, etc.

Legal status

The legal status of your family usually depends on your or your family’s citizenship. Unless you and your family members are coming from EU countries, your family members will need to apply for a family reunification visa or residence permit. Again, there can be various situations and our HR departments will consult with you and advise you of the legal status as well as assist you with the immigration process.

Is Lithuania a safe country to live in?

Lithuania is among the safest countries in the world. According to the Institute for Economics and Peace, Lithuania is among the countries where the index of terrorism is close to 0.

The political and economic environment in Lithuania is stable. National security of the Republic of Lithuania has been part of the indivisible security of NATO and the EU since 2004.

Lithuania is also a member of nearly 50 international cross-governmental organisations, like the Council of Europe, the United Nations and the OECD.

Will I have any trouble in Lithuania if I don't speak Lithuanian?

Like in any foreign country, it’s always good to know some basic phrases “Thank you” and “Goodbye” (“Ačiū”, “Viso gero”). 52% of Vilnius population speak at least two foreign languages and in the main cities Vilnius and Kaunas, Klaipėda you’ll find that most people speak English. When venturing out of the main cities, however, you may find fewer people speak English, but there is always someone around who’ll be able to help you when it comes to ordering food or buying a train ticket.

You’ll never run out of ideas, and no matter what you choose, we can guarantee that it’ll take you on an amazing journey.

The city is fit for pleasure seekers – going to a movie or a modern art exhibition opening, enjoying dinner at some of the best restaurants in Lithuania, or joining the active nightlife scene will give you a taste of local life.

How I pay taxes?

Your taxes and social and health insurance contributions are taken from your salary and are paid by the company on a monthly basis.

What is the amount of tax?

The deduction of taxes will include income tax of 20 %. There will be mandatory deductions of 12,52% for social and 6,98% for health insurance. As a candidate in the later stages of the process, our HR department will help you to understand the calculation of the net salary.
