Marketing

This team oversees the workflow and processes of our different tasks. They’re also the ones making sure our relationships with partners keep blossoming after contact has been initiated and deals have been struck. Their skills go even beyond, as they assume the role of motivational speakers and work-life coaches too, encouraging each and every one of us to give the best of ourselves.

Alexey Morozov
Creative Media Team Lead

He knows how to grab the attention of millions of gamers, get people involved in the game, and communicate through creativity and he also knows all the lyrics of Motörhead songs!

Let’s get along with him! And who knows, maybe one day you’ll be singing Motörhead songs in karaoke together.

Could you tell the story about your career path?

My journey in marketing has been a wild, exciting ride. I’ve been managing international product marketing across a lot of IT industries, from space tech to mobile enterprise development. It was this experience that prompted my transition into the gaming industry. Six years ago, I joined a VR startup that has quickly become one of the bleeding-edge developers in virtual reality entertainment. Then I moved on to Wargaming, where I managed marketing for various games, including World of Tanks PC, Caliber, and finally, World of Tanks Blitz (along with several non-disclosed titles).

Name several reasons why you chose to join the gaming industry. What is so attractive about the game industry?

I’ve been an avid gamer since I was… 4? My first rig was a fancy ZX Spectrum 48K that ran games on audio tapes. Ever since I was a kid, I have fancied technology and admired the grand successes of legendary gaming studios and people.

I’d say coming into the gaming industry was one of the best career decisions I’ve ever made. Gaming is a philosophy, a lifestyle. It is a craft and an art form. Yes, it involves challenging work and dedication, but nothing beats the happiness and thrill of shipping a game or an update that is well-received by the players.

Could you share your perspective on what is so unique about Wargaming?

My experience at Wargaming is genuinely unique. I get to work with brilliant people who are passionate about gaming and have the opportunity to build unique products that millions of fans from all corners of the world enjoy. It’s really an unbeatable feeling when you hear the cheering crowd of tankers at any exhibition. It’s unrivalled!

The talent in Wargaming is incredible, from developers and art directors to QA specialists – everybody loves their job and is eager to make sure our games are as awesome as possible. Plus, there’s no red tape here – you can easily talk to top-level executives and share your opinion or seek advice from them, which I find invaluable.

What I also love about working at Wargaming is the international team – you get to interact with people from different countries, learn more about their cultures and become like a global citizen!

What’s so special about the Creative Media discipline and your area of responsibility?

Oh, you get to be the glue that connects a lot of components of the game to provide an engaging experience for players. It’s awesome to see my work truly come alive in banner ads, promotional videos, and especially in-game interface elements.

In addition, it’s been exciting watching as our games have become more popular; as they gain more visibility, it gives me personal satisfaction to have been a part of their success. It’s great being part of something bigger than myself; knowing that millions of people get to enjoy my team’s artwork is incredibly gratifying!

Could you share your thoughts about the privileges of being in Lithuania? What do you like the most about this country? Tell the fact why everyone should visit Lithuania!

I love the work/life balance here in Lithuania. It’s a great place to explore with its unique mix of natural beauty, rich history, and modern infrastructure. My personal advice is to come in late spring and take a few days off to travel across the country. You should start in the south and make your way up north, stopping at lakes and quaint towns along the way before finally finishing at the coast, where you can take in that refreshing sea breeze.

No matter what kind of traveller you are – adventuring outdoors or just taking it easy – Lithuania makes for an ideal escape from our daily routines. It’s definitely something everyone should experience at least once!

What are your hobbies?

If there’s a karaoke bar that has Motörhead songs, you’ll probably find me there sometime!

Do you have a funny story from your work life?

I have a lot of those, but the fondest memories are of all of the get-togethers for the teams. You really feel that you’re part of something special, working on great games for the best players in the world!

Who are you when you close office doors/laptop?

When I close my laptop, I fire up a game on my mobile or console. Ha-ha! Well, occasionally, I travel, go to concerts, barbecues, and so much more. Life isn’t only about games. It’s about the people you love and care about.

How would you describe your work for the stranger at the bar?

When asked what I do for a living, I normally say that I make a lot of players happy by communicating with them about our great games!

What advice would you give to a new joiner?

For those new to the company, I’d say two things: BE BRAVE! Don’t hesitate to ask questions, even if you think they may sound stupid. Wargamers are a lovely bunch and are extremely friendly!
