Without them, simply put, we wouldn’t survive. Our IT & Maintenance team is always there when we need them. When there’s something wrong with your network settings, company laptop, or software, who you gonna call? Ghostb-… we mean the IT team!
We hope you’ll never need to call upon us, but if you ever need to, we’ll be there.
Vladislav’s personality is a good mix of a people person and a real-life computer genius, which is why he absolutely nails his role as a lead!
Let’s dive into his story and get to know him!
As the IT & Maintenance Lead, my primary role is to support the office. This includes dealing with any hardware or software issues that may arise, as well as preparing for new hires, transfers and out-of-office events. I also ensure the smooth running of all systems, so our players can always have the best experience possible.
I was an interpreter and teacher of English and German language on paper, but a tech guy by vocation. Actually, my experience as a teacher has taught me a great deal about working with different people, being patient, and understanding their needs – those skills are essential for a team lead! This experience helps me to handle my position with confidence to this day.
I’ve always been interested in games, which got me curious about computers and their inner workings. I wondered what happens inside the computer once you switch it on and how each component works together, so I started researching, experimenting and learning more about it. And since then, I’ve never stopped learning how technology works.
I chose to join the gaming industry because I was always passionate about playing games, and it was interesting to see how they are actually being made, the people behind them, what they are like and how they think. It’s a creative and highly interesting industry to be a part of.
I’m also drawn by the sheer number of career possibilities within the game industry – from game designer and programmer to project manager – it’s a great place for me to learn new skills while having fun at the same time!
What makes our company so unique and stands out from others is the way we treat people. Our team is diverse, creative and generous in more ways than one. We strive to ensure everyone feels included and respected regardless of background or job role.
At Wargaming, we take great pride in providing a friendly environment. Our teams are encouraged to share ideas openly and collaborate across departments to create solutions that bring value to the company.
You get to help many people and see the difference you make. All new “toys”, such as the latest hardware/gaming consoles/mobile devices, are coming through you, so you get your hands on them first. I also had the opportunity to work with a variety of different departments, seeing how each one works and their impact on the business. This breadth of experience keeps me constantly engaged – it’s like being a jack of all trades! I’m continually learning something new every day, which helps me stay on top of things and makes sure that no problem is too big for me to solve.
First things first, Lithuania is a part of the EU, which I appreciate as someone who was born in a non-EU country. It gives me endless opportunities to travel easily to Western European countries without visas anytime I want to. It’s wonderful!
Recently, I started to learn the Lithuanian language. It’s quite a challenge for me, definitely not easy, but totally worth it. I find that it helps me to adapt faster and enables me to enjoy Lithuanian culture fully.
Lithuania has incredibly friendly people and lots of places to visit! The scenery here is also breathtaking. I highly recommend visiting Lithuania if you ever have the chance – you won’t regret it!
I’ve been a gamer since the early 2000s. I think it’s no surprise that it is one of my main hobbies since I work for Wargaming.
In 2014 I found myself enjoying photography. Capturing the beauty in the world around us is important, and the camera is a great way to do that.
Finally, being a dog dad since 2018 has been one of the best experiences of my life. Taking him on walks or playing with him in the park has been a great way for me to stay active, healthy and relaxed. Plus, he’s just so cute!
