The Art production team is like a cross between an architect and a sculptor. They’re the folks who take the ideas in your head and make them real, one brick at a time.
This is all about combining knowledge of design principles with artistic creativity and problem-solving skills.
He is the person who creates the aesthetic of WG that we all know and love! No surprise, Egor is really an artistic person with many interests and talents, which helps him to create his unique vision. Also, if you are lucky enough, he can show you his giant collection of collectables!
Let’s get to know him!
My path started with a passion for drawing, which I’ve been cultivating since I was a child. Later on, I decided to pursue it professionally and studied arts. After graduation, I got involved in a couple of mobile game start-ups, where I had the chance to work as an artist. All this experience eventually led me to WoT team – which is how I ended up here! 11 years of game dev experience has taught me a lot and helped me grow both professionally and personally. Nowadays, my position as an Art Director allows me to use my skills and creativity to develop amazing products that bring joy to our players.
As for me, the game industry is a perfect option to combine my favourite hobby – games, with my favourite occupation – art. I’m really passionate about creating unique and beautiful pieces of art that can transport players into a captivating digital world. Not only do I love designing the art side of video games and bringing life to characters and settings, but I also get to witness gamers’ joy as they get lost in the stories we create.
Wargaming stands out from other companies because no one else takes such a passionate and meticulous approach to their work, striving to bring unique and engaging experiences to gamers everywhere. My team is especially dedicated to bringing top-notch visuals and atmosphere to all of our products. It’s this attention to detail that allows us to create truly immersive game worlds.
As for my zone of responsibilities – I’m supposed to make things beautiful!
Joking, of course, it’s much more complicated, but in general – something like that. It’s all about combining knowledge of design principles with artistic creativity and problem-solving skills.
In addition to working under tight deadlines, I need to have an eye for detail and be able to provide creative solutions to challenging tasks. Communication is also key. It’s critical for me to be able to articulate my ideas clearly and effectively so others can understand them.
From my personal experience moving to Lithuania – it’s an amazingly beautiful country where the culture is incredibly diverse and unique, and the scenery is stunning. From old castles and medieval towns to wide open fields and wild forests – there’s something for everyone.
All of this is accompanied by some of the most delicious food around! You haven’t experienced Lithuanian cuisine until you’ve tried their smoked fish, beetroot soup, or anything with cheese! The locals are also incredibly friendly and welcoming.
If you’re thinking about visiting this lovely corner of Europe, then I’d highly recommend doing so – there will be no shortage of things for you to see and do here!
My hobbies and passions include game development, of course, but also playing games themselves. I’m a big fan of all kinds of art forms. I also love collecting figures and statues from my favourite video games. My collection is really huge to the point where I need a couple of rooms with stands to place them!
Music is also a big part of my life – I graduated from music school, and I really enjoy playing the guitar in my free time. When I have time, I enjoy going to shows and checking out new bands. My taste in music is pretty eclectic – from good old rock’n’roll like the Beatles to nu-metal like Deftones. Overall, there’s never a dull moment when it comes to my favourite pastimes!
I’m trying to draw something for myself on free topics in my infrequent free time. That’s a very uneasy process – if I lose concentration even for a moment – as a result, I may end up artwork with a tank – no matter what was the original idea or topic. Just kidding. Or am I?
As advice for beginners – art in game dev and game dev itself is very interesting but complicated. Don’t over-romanticize it – there are plenty of difficulties and routines, but on the other hand, lots of interesting challenges, possibilities and like-minded people!
